Homeschool Question:

This is actually a really great question, and one that every family should consider.
.
I’ve homeschooled my kids on a $300/year budget, and I’ve homeschooled my kids on a $7,000/year budget, and if I’m being bluntly honest, I don’t think one was ever more fun than the other.
.
I was reminiscing the other day about our early years when our income was at about 25% of what it is now. I would spend time each week researching things to do with the kids around town that would cost me little to nothing, and we had SO much fun together. We adventured all the time. My kids were younger, so this looked like parks, the local children’s museum (we had a membership), places that offered free tours, and other inexpensive outings. We didn’t have sport activities except for those organized with our co ops, and I was very strategic with our curriculum choices.
.
We had a tiny little budget, but we loved homeschooling. There are so many free resources online these days, that even if you can’t afford a curriculum, you can piece one together with a little research and your friend Google. My memories of my homeschooling years with my children are sweet and some of my favorites.
.
Now, we have older kids, a larger household income, and a bigger budget. My kids take classes and try new activities. We favor bike or skate parks to playground parks. They enjoy hanging out at home with friends, and are interested in shopping. It’s different.
.
➕Your budget does not affect the quality of your homeschool experience. It may look different depending on your budget, but homeschool families operate on a variety of budgets all the time!
.
➕What do you want to accomplish in your homeschool? Sports? Trips? Field trips? Curriculum choices? Prioritize your desires and work your budget around them. No matter what it is, you can make it work!
