“I don’t have a teaching degree!”, or even, “I don’t have any degree at all!” Guess what? You don’t need it. 🤷♀️
.
Statistics show that homeschooled students, when tested, produce almost the same results regardless of the education level, or which type of degree their parents have. Read that again. And again.👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
.
So, why is that the case?!? The ability to be the BEST advocate for YOUR child is one of your strongest assets. A parent wanting their child to succeed will go to great lengths to ensure their child gets exactly what they need. When a parent cannot personally provide what their child needs, they find resources to fill in the gaps.
.
When you homeschool, there is never a need to be “pushed through” grades. This allows a parent to take as much or as little time on a topic, subject, or interest. A child can learn at their own pace while getting all their questions answered.
.
Advocate for your child’s growth, and THEY. WILL. GROW.
.
If you feel ill-equipped to teach a subject or topic, consider some of these options…
.
1-Learn with them. Research. Hit the library. Google.
.
2-Find a co-op class. Co-ops are great resources. Parents teach subjects they are knowledgeable/passionate about, and the bonus is you meet new friends!
.
3-Take online or local classes that specializes in the subject/topic. Outschool offers a multitude of topics. Local businesses are often happy to add a homeschool class option if you have other families needing the same class.
.
4-Post in local Facebook homeschool groups. Chances are, there’s another parent who has already been there, done that and has some answers for you!
