The word “homeschool” somehow manages to all-too-often to become synonymous with “I have to do it all.”
.
You don’t.
.
The homeschool community is a pretty incredible community. You’ll find, just like anywhere, a huge diversity of people, from all walks of life, who have chosen to homeschool for a variety of reasons. If you are new to homeschooling, find your local groups online ASAP.
.
Homeschoolers don’t need to do everything themselves. Confused on the legalities for how homeschooling works in your area of residence? Ask the local community. Not sure how to narrow down curriculum choices? Ask the community. Not sure where to find activities, sports, science classes, or cooking classes? Ask the community. Need someone to help tutor your child in math? Ask the community.
.
I have four homeschooled children. I cannot possibly do it all anymore. My husband and I share their school load, but on top of that? We absolutely outsource a couple of their subjects. We use Outschool for our language arts for our 13, Spanish and book clubs for our 11, and history for out 9 & 7.
.
We utilize local co ops, local businesses that offer homeschool classes, and our local homeschool FB board-All. The. Time.
.
We don’t do it alone. YOU do not have to do it alone, either. Find your community. Plug in. Ask for help. Outsource when needed (know your local laws-legalities for this can vary). And have fun learning together.
.
YOU CAN HOMESCHOOL, and you are NOT alone.
