Fake Rules. They’re everywhere, whether you realize it or not. Almost all of us buy into them without even realizing it.
.
Fake Rules come out in our decision making. They often hinder us from jumping into homeschooling, or cause us to question and hinder others.
.
“Socialization only happens in the classroom!”
.
“Homeschooling is expensive!”
.
“You need a teaching degree to homeschool!”
.
“School takes all day,” and/or, “I have a job and don’t have enough time!”
.
“You’re not a teacher, so you can’t possibly teach them everything!”
.
Sound familiar? Maybe they’ve been said to you. Maybe you’ve said them to someone else. Maybe you have never articulated them but deep down have not jumped into homeschooling because of one of them.
.
They’re Fake Rules, and they can be dangerous.
.
I’m working on this new book that I hope to release by the end of 2021. Fake Rules addresses the most common Fake Rules spread around by us and others. It addresses WHY these “rules” are dangerous, and how we can go about breaking the cycle of believing them.
.
Do you have Fake Rules dictating whether you can or can’t homeschool your children? I’d love to hear about the ones that are currently holding you up, as well as the ones that maybe were a previous hinderance to you!
